# Tikip: Full site and tool reference

## What the tool does
Tikip lets a visitor submit a TikTok username to an intermediary lookup provider, which retrieves profile information from TikTok and returns available fields. Depending on the response, these can include account identifiers, public engagement counts, profile text or avatar, a creation date, and a region value. Fields are not guaranteed to be present or accurate. Tikip is an independent service and is not affiliated with TikTok.

## Interpreting region results
Tikip displays two distinct region estimates when returned by the upstream data provider:
1. Estimated Registered Region: Reflects the country association derived from platform registration parameters and account routing. If not returned, it displays 'Unavailable'.
2. Estimated Current Region: Reflects recent network activity or serving clusters reported by the provider. If omitted, it displays 'Unavailable'.

Tikip strictly keeps each field mapped to its provider source and does not silently substitute one region estimate for another. Neither estimate establishes a person's live GPS coordinates, physical location, nationality, private account registration history, or official tax residency (such as TikTok Creator Rewards or TikTok Shop payout regions).

TikTok's own support documentation describes recommendation signals in several broad groups: user interactions, content information, and user information. TikTok notes that the relative importance can vary. A third-party profile lookup cannot infer exactly how a video will be ranked or who will see it. See [TikTok Support](https://support.tiktok.com/en/using-tiktok/exploring-videos/how-tiktok-recommends-content).

## How to use Tikip
1. Enter a public TikTok username in the search box on [Tikip](https://tikip.us/).
2. Review the profile fields returned by the provider.
3. Treat region and date fields cautiously; availability depends on the provider.
4. Do not submit passwords or sensitive personal information. Tikip does not retain personal data or usernames submitted through lookups. Search usernames are sent to the intermediary provider to retrieve TikTok profile information. Review the [Privacy Policy](https://tikip.us/privacy).
